Support handmade in PA & NJ

Some of the best gifts to give, especially during the holidays, are made right in and around our local communities. We have the most talented artisans around! Most of them participate in local craft shows, but with our busy schedules, especially this time of year, it's not always possible to make it out for in-person shopping. So here are some great gift options by local artisans who offer shopping online. It's a wonderful way to support our local economy AND do it from the convenience of your computer. Happy shopping!

A NATURAL ALTERNATIVE SOAPS & TOILETRIES
A Natural Alternative Soaps & Toiletries
All of the handcrafted soaps and toiletries created by A Natural Alternative of Emmaus, PA are inspired by nature. They are free from preservatives (parabens) and detergents (sulfates and sulfites) as well as dyes and phalates. Their soaps are made by a process called hand milling. This process takes more time, but produces a harder, longer lasting bar of soap that has a more luxurious lather. Most of their soaps are also made with organic whole milk, which improves their skin feel. Besides handcrafted soaps, they offer shaving kits and brushes, sachets, washcloths, soap dishes, face scrubbers, air fresheners, bath fizzys, lip balm, lotion bars, vegan products, gift baskets, and more. Their products are made from original recipes and custom orders can be created.
PAINTED GLASSES BY SILK ELEGANCE
Painted Glasses by Silk Elegance
Using her own stunning floral and nature inspired designs, Anna Mae of Silk Elegance creates elegant hand painted wine glasses, champagne glasses, rock glasses, martini glasses and margarita glasses. Her glasses make the perfect gifts for holidays, anniversaries, weddings or any special occasion. Each design is individually painted by Anna Mae from her home studio in Bucks County, PA. No two designs are exactly identical which makes each piece special. She uses non-toxic water based enamel paint and then bakes her glasses for durability, but hand washing is recommended. Anna Mae's glasses can be personalized by adding names and dates to the base usually in gold color. If the glasses are a gift, she can include a gift card with a personal message. Her glassware is initialed and packaged carefully for shipping. Anna Mae is a certified Donna Dewberry instructor; she teaches the popular "One Stroke" painting technique at private parties and local businesses.
BOTTLED UP DESIGNS
Bottled Up Designs
Bottled Up Designs features jewelry handmade by Laura Bergman from broken remains of antique glass and bottles found in old glass dumps in the wooded habitats and rural farmlands in rural Pennsylvania Amish Country. These broken treasures are taken from these habitats, hammered, fired and made into stunning modern wearable works of art. As a life long collector of antique bottles and glass, Laura has prepared for every piece 'The Story of the Glass' detailing the history of each piece and the age of the glass used.
