Hillsborough, NJ (May 8, 2017) – The 14th annual Sourland Music Festival features more fun for all ages than ever before. In addition to seven popular New Jersey bands, this year’s Fest will offer many new family-friendly features. Tim Johnson and Suzanne Parsons are this year’s Festival co-chairs.
“The Sourland Music Fest provides a showcase for the best blues, jazz, folk & rock musicians in New Jersey. Local beer, wine & food - we’ve got the best view around,” Ms. Parsons said. “It’s a gathering of families and community to celebrate the Sourland Mountain region and the great outdoors.”
“Members from all five Sourland municipalities have been working hard to make this year’s event better than ever. For instance, Bob and Judy Czekanski, of Skillman, have been working very hard to create a new feature, Cool Critters,” Ms Parsons continued. “Some of the Cool Critters activities will include: Conserve Wildlife Foundation will present information about bats; Swallow Hill Farm will show alpacas, wool demonstrations and activities for kids; Mercer County Wildlife Center will display Emerald Ash Borers and a box turtle; Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association will have a corn snake, western hog nosed snake and red-eared slider; NJ Audubon Society, Plainsboro Preserve is providing a bird identity wheel and plush birds for touching, listening and learning; and New Jersey Beekeepers Association’s bee hive will be on display. Don’t worry, it’s enclosed so the bees won't get out!”
“Participants can also test their vertical strength on the Rock Climbing Wall; watch a demonstration and learn about timber frame construction; and try Sourland Cycles’ newest mountain bike on a test trail at the edge of the Polo field,” Mr. Johnson added.
New this year, The Ryland Inn will provide an unforgettable VIP experience. A limited number of tickets are now available for $80. To learn more or purchase tickets, visit http://www.sourlandmusicfest.org/tickets/
Fresh, fantastic food, snacks and desserts will be available from specialty food vendors. Local beer is provided by Flounder Brewing Company (Hillsborough) and Lone Eagle Brewing Company (Flemington). Unionville Vineyards (Ringoes) will be serving their favorite wines. Buy a Sourland Festival mug and get a discount on beer refills. Free water will be available all day. No coolers please.
“Music fans come to the Fest to hear the best New Jersey musicians. This year, seven great bands will be there: The John Ginty Band, Russell Norkevich, JD Malone & The Experts, Lisa Bouchelle, Tom Tellitsch, Karl Dietel 5, and The High Hearts,” said Mr. Johnson.
