The treatments developed to destroy cancer are powerful, but they can also cause a range of side effects. Some of these effects may be temporary, and will go away when a patient's body adjusts to therapy or once treatment ends, but some may be long-lasting. Reactions to cancer treatment vary from patient to patient, and treating these side effects is an important part of cancer care and in improving quality of life.
